DC-DC Converters are used in series

The series use of the output voltage of DC-DC Converter is possible. How many modules can it connect in series depending on the specific model and applications.

In order to obtain a high output voltage, the series operation of the two DC-DC Converters is shown in Figure 6, and The load current cannot exceed the nominal value of the minimum output rated current .The output of each power module is connected in parallel with a reverse diode ,and When power on, it does not affect each other due to the different startup time. This diode shall be selected as a schottky diode whose reverse voltage shall be greater than the total output voltage and with a current greater than twice the rated output current.

To obtain a high output voltage, the series of dual output of DC-DC power module is shown in Figure 7.If the positive and negative output of DC-DC power module is used during series operation ,and the load on the positive side and the negative side are completely separated, the above diodes are not required, as shown in Figure 8. Making the performance of two DC-DC power modules match as much as possible, especially the start- up characteristics and some protection features. We recommend using the same model of DC-DC power module as much as possible.
